Democratic Convention Biggest in State's History
NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
SAN DIEGO, April 28 - Democratic Presidential Candidate Dennis Kucinich was greeted by thousands of delegates to the state convention in San Diego at the largest gathering of party leaders in California's history. Over 3,400 attendees, including 2,264 of the state's 2,801 delegates, were among the audience when Kucinich delivered an historical speech calling the party to accept a new mantle of leadership.
Clearly the populist, visionary candidate for the Democratic nomination, Kucinich says the party must end the war in Iraq, end the rationing of health care caused by the for-profit system, end trade agreements which hurt the U.S. economy, and end the inhumane treatment of immigrants. The only candidate who voted against the invasion of Iraq in 2002, Kucinich was wildly applauded by activists committed to his message of peace and prosperity.
